Okay, well I guess my post about TNL got passed around... and around... My bad ;)
Jake wants to make sure everyone knows HE LOVED IT and is all upset if my post will "make it change" cuzz honestly he loved it.
However, I did discuss with him the fact that if we had a small baby this wouldn't be okay... to which he agreed. We also discussed that it wouldn't be okay for an older person, to which is also agreed.
BUT he loves the loud... really he does.
I said, "Well loud but less loud would be okay right?"
His response... "Uhhhhhhhh...."

I don't really think it's a bad thing that you though it was too loud. It is okay for things to be out of your comfort zone. and it is also okay for Jake to have loved it. Everyone is different.
I know that I would have probably have hated it. I think that's okay...don't you?
to Jake: It's okay that you like it loud, but one day believe it or not you'll find that too loud too. Honest!
Actually... even small amounts of exposure to loud sounds can cause permanent hearing loss. It's one thing for an adult to understand this and still go, but I get so upset when children or people who don't know are subjected to this kind of thing. I actually carry ear plugs in my purse for this reason. I actually think that people who put on these loud things should be more aware and upfront about the hearing loss they are causing, especially when it's some place you wouldn't expect it (like the camp where our church kids go!).
Sorry, this is a bit of a pet peeve of mine! (and an occupational hazard as well!)
(...comes back sheepishly) I'm allowed to be a little hormonal and rant right now, aren't I?
