Topic: Children and Prayer
Toby is funny. Initially it took some coaxing, but unlike my other children he actually likes praying. Especially at meal and bed time. He used to always ask what to say, but now he is starting to do it all on his own. For some reason when he prays at meal times he always starts with, “I pray for the mommies and the daddies.” And then goes on from there thanking God for the food and for no tummyaches (from starting to eat before praying), etc. For his night prayers, he recently started praying for other people, which is cool, but no one specific. He prays for those that don’t have beds to get beds and those that don’t have houses to get houses and those that don’t have hats to get hats, etc. It’s nice to see that he’s aware of people who don’t have things.

WTG Jake, that was a great post. I love the last part about Toby praying for those who don't have hats ..to get hats. Completely important in the eyes of a child.
I'm glad you played.
Heather, I did make a little blog blinkie, it's on my side bar, you can snag it if you'd like (i'm such a nerd!).
;)
It's so cute when our kids start catching their faith!
Hi,
I came across your blog somehow and your frustration over your child's congestion reminded me of my own son's years ago and the negative allergy tests.
What worked? Staying away from dyes, flavorings, and salicylates. The only affective test is an elimination of them. Read labels, do your researach. Start with www.feingold.org
Best wishes to you.
YAY for Jake. Big fan of your wife... FYI.

Great job Jake!!
It's wonderful when they develop empathy like that. My kids pray every night too, but Sydney is REALLY particular about it. The nights that they get to bed late and we try to sort of hurry them (bad I know), she REFUSES to skip anyone. She has her list of people and she has to say them all!! (And she always says "for all the mommies and the daddies and the babies! :) )
